 How To Install OBS Plugins

To install plugins in OBS (Open Broadcaster Software), you can follow these general steps. Keep in mind that the process may vary slightly depending on the operating system you’re using (Windows, macOS, or Linux).
 

For Windows:

  1. Download the Plugin:

    • Visit the OBS Studio website or trusted plugin repositories.
    • Download the plugin you need. It could be a ZIP file or an installer.
  2. Extract the ZIP File (if applicable):

    • If the plugin is in a ZIP file, right-click on it and select “Extract All…” to unzip its contents.
  3. Install the Plugin:

    • Some plugins come with an installer. Run the installer, follow the on-screen instructions, and it will automatically place the plugin files in the correct OBS directory.
    • If there’s no installer, navigate to the OBS Studio installation directory (commonly “C:Program Filesobs-studio” or “C:Program Files (x86)obs-studio”) and find the “obs-plugins” folder. Copy the extracted plugin files or folder into this directory.
  4. Restart OBS:

    • Close and reopen OBS to ensure the plugin is loaded.

    2. Install the Plugin:

      • If the plugin is in a ZIP file, extract its contents.
      • Right-click on OBS Studio in the “Applications” folder, select “Show Package Contents,” and navigate to “Contents” > “Resources” > “data” > “obs-plugins.” Copy the plugin files or folder into this “obs-plugins” directory.
    3. Restart OBS:

      • Close and reopen OBS to apply the changes and activate the plugin.

    1. Download the Plugin:

      • Download the plugin from trusted sources.
    2. Install the Plugin:
